About this website and the Network…
The network of the Njegoskij Fund’s friends and its Europeanist club, the Club EuroConvergence, is a strictly informal “Gymnich” group of Franco-Europeans and Montenegrins — policy- and economic-makers, opinion leaders, members of the civil society — animated by a common desire to establish a great federating pole of communication and general information, to give a real visibility to the Franco-Montenegrin alliance in order to fortify all the individual energies.
Noting:
• that communication is an indispensable accompaniment of all projects,
• that many individual and associative energies which are at work in Montenegro to keep there alive the French presence, the Francophonie and the Franco-Montenegrin friendship, do not necessarily have the technical means or the time to communicate about their actions,
• that communication of great Franco-European and Montenegrin actors, institutional and from the private sector, is dispersed across hundreds of websites,
• that, given the small size of Montenegro and the political processes at work in the country, sometimes opposing, it may be inappropriate for some private actors to link their communication to a local political player, and
• that it can then, for all these reasons, be difficult to have a global perspective on the Franco-Montenegrin alliance,
the network of the Njegoskij Fund’s friends has as particular objective to create a space of communication and general information, without determined political orientation, for reporting on the activities of all the actors, public or private, Franco-European and Montenegrin, from the political, economic, social and cultural sectors which contribute together to keep alive and give momentum to the relationship between France and Montenegro in its Europeanist perspective.
Leant, while being fully independent of it, upon the private historical fund Njegoskij — a.k.a “The Njegoskij Fund” — and the database EURODOC+CG, the network is not governed by any statute by virtue of its voluntarily informal character, but only follows a number of principles and rules, accepted by all the participants, which are mainly due to a common desire that the network remains a space of exchange and communication without marked political orientation. In this sense, it can be perceived as a “non-institution”.
The Club EuroConvergence held its first Franco-Montenegrin Gymnich meeting on May 24, 2008 in Chaumont, Haute-Marne (52), France, and its participants regularly meet in Paris and Brussels. The Club’s Secretary-General is Mr. Pierre Olivier Leroy, by another way President of the Njegoskij Fund’s Senate.
