H.E. Dr. Ranko Milovic presents his letters of credence to the President of Slovenia

Today, this Friday August 29, 2008, took place at the Presidential Palace in Ljubljana, Slovenia, an official ceremony during which H.E. Dr. Ranko Milović, new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Montenegro to Slovenia, presented his letters of credence to the President of the Republic, H.E. Dr. Danilo Türk.

Slovenian President Türk, after welcoming H.E. Ambassador Milović and wishing him a pleasant stay in Slovenia, good luck and a lot of success in his work, underscored the key role that Montenegro plays in the development of good-neighbourly relations and the preservation of regional stability, stressing that the country is a positive example for all the Western Balkans and which should deserve much greater appreciation by the international community. The Head of State added that Slovenia strongly supports Montenegro integration to the European Union (EU) and NATO.

As for him, H.E. Ambassador Milović after extending his thanks to President Türk for the rich and high level of bilateral talks held between Montenegro and Slovenia during the Slovenian Presidency of the European Union, stressed that he will work to further improve the overall relationships between both countries, in the fields of political co-operation as well as mutual economic development.

Ambassador Milović concluded by being convinced that Montenegro has much to learn from the experience of Slovenia, which has achieved great development in all spheres.

Former Ambassador of Serbia and Montenegro (SCG) to Slovenia, H.E. Dr. Ranko Milović is the second Ambassador of Montenegro to Slovenia after the recall in June last of his predecessor, Ambassador Branko Perović.
Engineer by profession, Ambassador Milović is graduated with a Master degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Birmingham, England, United Kingdom. Between 1989 and 1992, he was member of the Parliament of Montenegro.
