H.E. Mr. Vladimir Radulovic presents his letters of credence to German Federal President Horst Köhler

From the Presidential Palace “Schloss Bellevue” in Berlin, July 7, 2008, Germany

Today, this Monday July 7, 2008, took place at the Presidential Palace “Schloss Bellevue” in Berlin, Germany, an official ceremony during which H.E. Mr. Vladimir Radulović, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Montenegro to Germany, presented his letters of credence to the President of the Federal Republic, H.E. Mr. Horst Köhler.

Federal President Köhler, after welcoming H.E. Ambassador Radulović and wishing him good luck and a lot of success in his work, praised the long-dated friendly relations between Germany and the Republic of Montenegro, recalling that the Stability Pact for South-Eastern Europe, which was initiated by the European Union and largely funded by Germany, has been an important pillar of mutual co-operation — notably to strengthen in the Montenegrin population the sense of European identity, and to promote civil society and minorities and human rights.

As for him, H.E. Ambassador Radulović after extending his thanks to Federal President Köhler for all the co-operation projects supported in Montenegro by Germany on a bilateral basis within the European Union’s framework, expressed his conviction that following international commitments Montenegro entered into since independence two years ago, the country is now perceived as ready to European and Trans-Atlantic integration, being certain Montenegro will continue to have through Germany’s support, an active partner to go forward on its European path.
H.E. Ambassador Radulović also introduced to the Head of State the excellent economic potentials of Montenegro, conveying the hope of President Filip Vujanović to see strengthening economic partnering relations with Germany, with more German companies participating in privatizations and investing in local development projects, notably in the field of infrastructure.

Mr. Vladimir Radulović is the first Ambassador of Montenegro to Germany since the establishment of diplomatic relations on June 14, 2006, after Montenegro gained independence on June 3rd. The German Embassy in Podgorica was opened as of June 22, 2006.
