H.E. Mr. Zeljko Radulovic presents his letters of credence to the President of Belarus

Today, this Tuesday May 27, 2008, took place at the Presidential Palace in Minsk, Belarus, an official ceremony during which H.E. Prof. Dr. Željko Radulović, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Montenegro to Belarus, presented his letters of credence to the President of the Republic, H.E. Mr. Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko.

In his welcome address to Ambassador Radulović, President Lukashenko expressed hope the opening of mutually beneficial contacts and full-fledged partnership. “We are glad to welcome in Belarus all we are connected with through common interests and ambitions,” pointed the President, adding that Belarus “works with its allies and all partners for the sake of making the world fairer and better, in order to make mutual trust, openness, and equality permanent practices in international relations.”

Subsequently, the newly-appointed Montenegrin Ambassador had a meeting with Mr. Gennady Novitsky, Speaker of the Upper House of the Belarus National Assembly, accompanied by Mr. Nikolai Cherginets, Chairman of the Standing Committee for Foreign Affairs and National Security. They discussed prospects of bilateral co-operation, and agreed that the unity of Slavic spiritual values should become a reliable foundation for building up partnering relations and a higher level of co-operation between the two Nations, across the entire range of relations, first of all, trade, economic and political.

Former Ambassador of Serbia and Montenegro (SCG) to the Netherlands, H.E. Prof. Dr. Željko Radulović is the first Ambassador of Montenegro to Belarus since the establishment of diplomatic relations on August 8, 2006 [1], after Montenegro gained independence on June 3rd, 2006.
