Turn out and results of the 2008 presidential election by the CDT

Center for Democratic Transition The Center for Democratic Transition (CDT) was founded in August 2000, and entered into the Montenegrin Register of Non-governmental Organizations on August 22, 2000 under the number 819, pursuant to the resolution of the Ministry of Justice of Montenegro n° 02-4698/00.
Its principal place of business is in Podgorica, and the organization is officially represented by its Executive Director, Mr. Marko Čanović from Nikšić.
The CDT strives to application of democratic standards and upgrading democratic processes in Montenegrin society through the monitoring and the evaluation of elections, as well as by trying to lobby, as much as it is possible, through its activities, key interest groups to promote the democratic principles and positive values of modern Western societies.

TURN OUT PROJECTION AT 09:00PM: 68.7%

At 09:00pm, the voting right in this presidential election was used by 68.7%, or some 336,900 adult citizens of Montenegro registered on the voters list.
Turn out is highest in the central region of Montenegro with 71.1%; in the Northern region 69.9% voted, while, in the South of Montenegro, the right to vote was used by 63.4% registered voters.
At the same time during the 2006 parliamentary elections, turnout was 71.1%.
In the same period during the presidential election in February 2003, total turn out was 46.6%, which is 22.1% less than today’s turn out, and in the presidential election in May 2003, the final turn out was 48% which is 20.7% less than the current turnout.
In comparison with total turn out in the second round of the presidential election in 1997, which was 73.8%, today’s turn out represents a decrease in turnout of 5.1%.

VOTERS’ TURN OUT AT 08:00PM: 66.5%

At 08:00pm, voters’ turn out at April 6’ presidential election in Montenegro was 66.5%, or some 322,300 adult citizens of Montenegro registered on the voters list.
Turn out is highest in the central region of Montenegro with 68%; 67.4% of voters have voted in the Northern region, while turn out in the Southern region is 61.8%.
At the same time during the 2006 parliamentary elections, turn out was also 66.5%.
In the same period during the presidential election in February 2003, turn out was 46.2%, which is 20.3% less than the current turn out.
