Working visit of President Filip Vujanovic to Brussels

On February 25 04:00pm, the President of the Republic of Montenegro, H.E. Mr. Filip Vujanović, on working visit to Brussels, Belgium, had a one-hour meeting with Mr. Javier Solana, EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP).
President Vujanović and Mr. Solana discussed the latest developments in the Republic of Montenegro, Montenegro-EU relations, Kosovo and other issues of mutual interest.
Mr. Solana underlined in particular the important role that Montenegro could play in strengthening regional co-operation and the stability of the Western Balkans. He also commended Montenegro on the progress made regarding EU integration and encouraged continued reforms. He finally reiterated the EU’s full support for Montenegro’s efforts in this field and reaffirmed that the future of the Western Balkans was in the EU.

Earlier this Monday February 25, President Vujanović visited NATO Headquarters in Brussels where he had a working meeting with the NATO Secretary General, Mr. Jaap de Hoop Scheffer.

The next day, on February 26 04:00pm, President Vujanović was received by Mr. Olli Rehn, Member of the European Commission in charge of Enlargement.
