The Emir of Qatar, H.H. Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, issues the decrees to ratify two agreements with Montenegro

In mid-February last year, a high Montenegrin Delegation headed by H.E. Prime Minister Mr. Milo Đukanović — including T.Exc. the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Milan Roćen, the Minister for Economic Development, Mr. Branimir Gvozdenović, and the Prime Minister’s Information Advisor, Mrs. Aleksandra Laković, paid a two-day official visit to Qatar (Feb. 16-17), concluded by the signing of several agreements in the fields of finance, trade, economy, tourism and sports.

Today, this Wednesday January 13, 2010, the Emir of the State of Qatar, H.H. Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, issued two Decrees ratifying:
 the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Governments of Qatar and Montenegro on encouraging and mutual protection of investment; and
 the intergovernmental agreement on commercial, economic and technical co-operation,
both signed in Doha on February 17, 2009.

The two Decrees have the power of law in accordance with Art. 68 of the Qatari Constitution; they came into effect from the date of issue and are to be gazetted in Al-Jaridah Al-Rasmiyah, the State of Qatar’s Official Gazette.
