Referring to a recent series of roundtable meetings held by the Njegoskij Fund Network (TNFN) with representatives of several state administration bodies and public institutionals [1] in order that we join the OpenID community to facilitate our members in their technical harmonisation and standardisation of user-accesses to multiple databases, including EURODOC+CG level I & II [2], Njegoskij|org deployed earlier this week, on Monday November 16, 2009, the latest major upgrade of its user-interface “Independence”, implementing in the core SPIP — our web content management and publishing system for the internet (CMS-Content Management Systems), the open Single Sign-On (SSO) standard OpenID 2.0 — a decentralised protocol that allows users to create one portable digital identity to be working for an unlimited number of websites.

Following the signing by all the third parties — in the margin of the United Nations General Assembly Week 2009 (September 20-26, 2009; New York City, N.Y., USA) [3] — of the Additional Protocol n° 12/3 [4] to our multilateral convention on the protection and treatment of personal data, the so-called TNFN Privacy and Data Usage Convention [5], the deployment of user-interface “Independence” v3.2 came with the parallel launching of OpenID.Njegoskij|org, our own managed and hosted pilot OpenID Identity Provider Service, powered under Community-ID, an open source secure server technology by Keyboard Monkeys Ltd.

OpenID Authentication protocol

Additionally, in accordance with the provisions of IRCP::IPPPL-2007 [6], the support of OpenID 2.0 protocol has also been extended to our groupware portal, which will re-open next Tuesday, on November 24, 2009 at 12:00pm noon, Central European Time (UTC/GMT+1), after several weeks of reorganisation of our master server’s architecture, technical tests and internal validation procedures. Both because of the specifications of OpenID 2.0 — which implies the exchange of identity information between endpoints, and because most digital identity providers (IdPs) keep records and statistics about the use of their OpenIDs (date, time, IP, how a personal OpenId is used throughout the Web), we highly recommend all our individual contributors to obtain an OpenID identifier from our network in order to benefit our overall security and anonymity envelop.
